About Hospice Care Services
Hospice care is a multidisciplinary type of care that focuses on providing comfort, medical services as well as emotional and spiritual support to those who are at the advanced stages of a life-limiting illness.
Families and loved ones are also provided with supportive services to help them through what can be an emotionally challenging process.
Who is Eligible for Hospice Care?
Individuals who:
- Are at the advanced phases of an incurable illness
- Have short term life expectancy
- Have medical needs that cannot be cared for at home
- Cannot be medically stabilized to continue care at home

The Ferrara Family Center for Hospice Care is a 10-bed unit, located on the fourth floor of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s “C” building.
Each private room is spacious with comfortable furnishings and calming decor. Amenities include a family lounge and a dedicated meeting room for consultations and support. Overnight accommodations are also available at the hospital’s hospice facility for family members who wish to stay close.
