Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s Radiology Department offers a wide variety of state-of-the-art diagnostic and specialty services performed by over 16 Board Certified and sub-specialty-trained radiologists, supported by highly trained and experienced technologists.

With several upgrades and improvements to the department, our patients can now undergo their testing in a new and more comfortable environment. The department has two CT scanners, one 128-slice scanner located at the Emergency Department, which operates 24 hours, 7 days a week, and the other CT, a 256 HD CT scanner, located in the Radiology Suite.

These non-invasive imaging systems provide Jamaica Hospital Medical Center radiologists with the ability to obtain diagnostic digital images, which are extremely clear and accurate, all while using reduced radiation doses. This software technology allows for quicker manipulation of images and data and can produce images in 3D. The scanner has the ability to perform cardiac imaging procedures which can eliminate the need for a patient to undergo an invasive Cardiac Catheterization. The 256 HD CT scanner can also be used for patients undergoing reconstructive facial surgeries and orthopedic procedures.

The Radiology Department also utilizes a fully digital PACS system. Jamaica Hospital Medical Center radiologists can easily share images with a patient’s primary doctor and also interpret images from multiple off-site locations.
