About the Community Health Fair & Injury Prevention Outreach

Jamaica Hospital’s involvement primarily focused on handing out educational literature on Active Shooter Drills, Elder Abuse/Financial Scams, Falls Prevention, Kids’ Safety, Pedestrian Safety, Home Safety, Stop the Bleed, and interacting with people of all ages from the community one-on-one. Conversations were revolved around the fore mentioned. Seniors were advised about frequent eye check-ups to ensure proper vision, and students were talked about the importance of a wearing a helmet, knee and elbow pads to prevention serious head injuries and broken bones. Exercise programs to gain muscles strengths and balance for older adults.
