For Senior Appreciation Month this September 2018, Assemblywoman Michele Titus organized a Senior Fitness Day  featuring different forms of group exercise including Zumba and a group walk around Springfield Park as well as presentations on healthy cooking. Jamaica Hospital’s Injury Prevention Coordinator, Alex Ariza, handed out education materials on Falls Prevention and Pedestrian Safety for Older Adults. Other participating vendors included St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, NYC Department for the Aging, Shape-Up NYC, and Ocean Bay Community Development Corporation.
