You are invited to join us for our End of Year Health Fair & Employee Wellness day on Wednesday, December 5th 2018 from 10 AM – 3 PM in Garden Room South at Trump Pavilion for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
PRE-REGISTRATION BEGINS FRIDAY 11/23
Chair Massages
The therapeutic benefits of massage include stress relief, increased blood circulation, and released muscle tension. Our chair massages are generously provided by Anoz Spa Boutique.
Blood Pressure & Blood Sugar Screenings
Gain valuable insight by having your blood pressure and blood sugar measured by our Stroke Coordinator, Abigail Hasan. Detection and early treatment can decrease the chances of our employees developing cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other chronic conditions.
Nutrition Consults
Our very own dietitians will be able to answer any questions and concerns you may have about your nutrition and eating habits.
Oral Screenings
Our dental residents will provide quick oral screenings to look for conditions that may need to be addressed by a dentist or physician. This is especially useful for those who have not been examined in over a year or are in between their 6 month cleanings.
Smoking Cessation
Our very own patient navigators will be providing information on Jamaica Hospital’s smoking cessation program and can answer any questions employees may have.
Chair Yoga Classes
Taught by Janis Sharkey from the Nursing Education Department, our chair yoga classes are a great way to get a quick workout in focusing on balance, breath, and increasing flexibility. There will be two 30 minute classes available with a maximum of 20 people per class.
Stop the Bleed Classes
Jamaica Hospital’s EMTs will be demonstrating the basic techniques of bleed control for life-threatening injuries such as gun shot and stab wounds. The class is intended to empower and prepare our employees through hands on education, providing them the tools and skills necessary to help save lives should the need occur. Classes are limited to 6 people and are 45 minutes long.
Injury Prevention Education
The Trauma Division’s injury prevention table will have important educational material ranging from distracted driving, pedestrian safety, falls prevention, and more.
