Hurricane Relief Efforts

September 12, 2017

Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, there have been multiple catastrophic hurricanes that have decimated many parts of the United States over the past  few weeks. As is our culture to help those in need, the MediSys Health Network has been closely monitoring these events to determine where our assistance could be best utilized. That question was recently answered as a decision has been made to send a team of employees to help provide relief to the people of Puerto Rico

This is not our first time responding to a crisis. Over the years, the MediSys Health Network has answered the call to lend our support in times of need by providing disaster relief. It is our philosophy that our commitment to providing assistance knows no geographical boundaries. Our organization has deployed relief crews to help victims of catastrophic events during Hurricane Andrew in Homestead Florida, Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi and of course closer to home during Hurricane Sandy, the ice storms in Watertown New York and during the 9/11 World Trade Center disaster in New York City.

As we prepare to deploy our staff to Puerto Rico, I want to remind everyone interested how they can support this effort. The MediSys Hurricane Relief Campaign has been created to raise the funds needed to help us reach our objective of sending employees to provide assistance in the areas affected by the hurricanes.

All employees or their family and friends who are interested in making a secure, voluntary donation can do so by going to www.Jamaica– or- and clicking on the Hurricane Relief Fund link. Donations can also be made in person by visiting the Public Affairs Department or Cashier’s Office at either Flushing or Jamaica Hospital.  All checks should be made out to the “MediSys Health Network.”
