In an effort to provide healthy food options to our community, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is collaborating with the Queens County Farm Museum and Perez Farms to bring a much needed farmers’ market to the area.

By bringing the farmers’ market to its campus, Jamaica Hospital hopes to provide an outlet where members of the community can obtain seasonal fruits and vegetables and improve their overall health.

Addressing diet-related illnesses and obesity in our community has always been one of our primary objectives at Jamaica Hospital. Our farmers’ market is one of several initiatives we have implemented to provide our population with resources needed to lead healthy lives.

Jamaica Hospital’s Farmers’ Market will offer produce from the Queens County Farm Museum and Perez Farms.  Members of the community can shop at the Queens County Farm Museum every Friday through November 13th from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM and Perez Farms on Wednesdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Farm stands are located  at 134-20 Jamaica Avenue, by the Axel Building.

One of the keys to maintain a healthy lifestyle is seeing your doctor for regular check-ups and to manage pre-existing conditions.  Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s Ambulatory Care Center has a team of doctors who can help. For more information, please call 718-206-7001.
