Orthopedic Trauma
Sanjit Konda, M.D.
Dr. Konda is the Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery for MediSys Health Network. He also serves as the Director of Orthopedic Trauma and Joint Replacement Surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, the busiest orthopedic trauma center in NYC.. Dr. Konda also serves as Director of Geriatric Orthopedic Trauma for NYU Langone Health. He is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Langone Health.
Dr. Konda is a Board Certified Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon and also a Joint Replacement Specialist, who specializes in the treatment and management of all upper/lower extremity/pelvic fractures/nonunions/malunions and infections as well as the surgical treatment of joint arthritis with joint replacements, and generalized musculoskeletal care.
He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his Internship and Residency at NYU Langone Medical Center. Dr. Konda then completed his fellowship training at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Dr. Konda is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeon and a member the Orthopedic Trauma Association.

Janos Barrera, M.D.
Dr. Barrera completed his Residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford Health Care in California, where he gained extensive experience in hand and microsurgical techniques. He further honed his specialization through the Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship at NYU Langone Grossman School of Medicine, completing his advanced training last year.
Dr. Barrera has authored numerous peer reviewed research articles and textbook chapters. His clinical research is dedicated to improving patient outcomes, with a particular focus on wrist and finger fractures, nerve recovery following decompression or repair, and cutting-edge microvascular reconstruction techniques. His expertise spans the full spectrum of hand, wrist and peripheral nerve disorders, providing comprehensive care to patients with both common and complex conditions.

Joseph A. Bosco III, M.D.
Dr. Joseph A. Bosco III, MD was a team physician for the New York Mets professional baseball team from 2002 to 2004 and has served as team physician for the Durham Bulls and Brooklyn Cyclones minor league baseball teams. Dr. Bosco works as a Queens sports physician with Orthopedic Specialists of New York, treating people with problems in their knees and shoulders. He primarily manages sports-related injuries and performs total knee replacement surgery.

Hand & Wrist Specialist
Seymour L. Edelstein, MD
Dr. Seymour Edelstein, MD is an Orthopedic Hand Surgery Specialist. He completed his Orthopedics residency at Brookdale Hospital and completed his Hand Surgery fellowship at Harper-Grace Hospital.
Dr. Edelstein achieved the New York Best Doctors Award from 2000-2008 and operated a hand surgery practice in Brooklyn for over 43 years. In 2022, he joined our Fresh Meadows office, working closely with Dr. Stracher and our Orthopedic team. He treats a variety injuries and complications of the hand, fingers, wrist, and forearm. Dr. Edelstein diagnoses each patient to determine whether or not surgical intervention is medically necessary, as surgery is often seen as a last resort when other treatment methods have been exhausted. As a result, treatment can be surgical or non-surgical in nature.

Abhishek Ganta, M.D.
Dr. Abhishek Ganta, MD is the Director of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Co-Director of Orthopedic Trauma at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. As an orthopedic trauma surgeon, Dr. Ganta has a special interest in treating poly-trauma patients and in fracture care, nonunion, malunion/deformity correction, pelvic and acetabular surgery, and general orthopedics.
Dr. Ganta received his undergraduate and Medical Degree from Boston University in a combined accelerated 7-year medical program. He completed his residency at NYU Langone Medical Health and did a trauma fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center. Dr. Ganta is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a Member of the orthopedic Trauma Association.

Nader Paksima, M.D.
Nader Paksima: Dr. Nader Paksima, DO is a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. With 25 years of experience Dr Paksima takes care of all aspects of hand surgery including fractures, arthritis, tendon injuries, carpal tunnel and other nerve problems.
Dr. Pakshima received his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Ohio University in Dayton, Ohio. He then completed fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases program.

Emily Pflug, M.D.
Emily Pflug MD is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery in the Division of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. She treats the full spectrum of upper extremity conditions including hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow injuries as well as peripheral nerve pathology.
Dr. Pflug graduated Summa cum laude from Jefferson Medical College. She completed her residency at NYU Langone Health where she served as Executive Chief Resident during her final year. She then completed her fellowship in hand, upper extremity, and microsurgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Denver Health.
Dr. Pflug is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. Michael Stracher, MD is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity injuries and conditions. He is skilled in the treatment of orthopedic musculoskeletal trauma and enjoys teaching nurses, paramedics, residents, and colleagues.
Dr. Stracher is affiliated with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and possesses a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery.
