Here at the Jamaica/Flushing (MediSys) Hospital IBCLC Internship Program, we are dedicated to fostering the next generation of Lactation Consultants who embody excellence, empathy, and a deep commitment to supporting diverse families. The questions we ask during this application are designed to help us understand your motivation, values, and
readiness to thrive in this challenging and rewarding field. We are looking for candidates who not only possess the technical skills and knowledge required of an IBCLC but who also
demonstrate cultural competence, ethical integrity, and a passion for maternal-child health. Your responses will help us ensure that you are a good fit for our program and that together,
we can make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve.

*We will not accept any intern until they have completed the required 95 hours of Lactation Education. Please review the Pathway 3 Guide before proceeding with your application, as it
addresses many common questions and concerns.
