Blood clots develop in the leg and can move to the lungs, they can fatal. 25% of patients who develop DVT end up with chronic swelling of the legs and venous changes.
Varicose Veins & Venous Insufficiency
Up to 20% of female population have several degrees and can become disabled and may develop ulcers and blooding.
Cause

Prolonged immobilization after surgeries, long travels or within patients who develop abnormal blood clotting. Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), also known as venous thrombosis, occurs when a blood clot develops in veins deep in your body due to an injury to the vein or sluggish blood flow.
Varicose Veins
Genetics is the biggest factor, but also with women who are on their feet for long periods of time. Varicose veins are twisted, enlarged veins that are close to the skin’s surface most found in the legs. For many, varicose veins are simply a cosmetic concern, but for others, they can cause aching pain and discomfort and can lead to more serious problems.
Venous Insufficiency
Secondary, to valve abnormalities’ and can occur to blood clots that are no completely cared for.
Treatment Plan
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) & Thromboembolic Disease
- Blood Thinners for at least 3 months
- May require removal of blood clots based on degree of the clots and location
- Procedure: Percutaneous Mechanical Thrombectomy
- Procedure removes the clot from the vein in certain patients, this decrease the risks of having swelling and long term site effects of clot returning.
- Procedure: Percutaneous Mechanical Thrombectomy
