RICHARD W. PINSKER, M.D.
Dr. Pinsker is a graduate of the University of Rome, Italy School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency and endocrine fellowship at the Jewish Hospital and Medical Center of Brooklyn. He is Board Certified in Prevention/Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, as well as Endocrinology and Metabolism.
Dr. Pinsker is currently the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director at Jamaica Hospital. He has also served the United States Army Medical Corps twice in Iraq.

FARSHAD BAGHERI, M.D.
Dr. Bagheri graduated from Tehran University in 1982. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. He also has a Master’s degree in Public Health. Dr. Bagheri has been with Jamaica Hospital since 2004 and is Director of Infectious Disease, Medical Director of Infection Control Department and Chairman of the hospital’s AntiMicrobial Stewardship program.
Dr. Bagheri is a member of many professional societies including: the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, Infectious Disease Society of America, and the HIV Medical Association. He has also been the principal investigator in many clinical trials and has many publications.

JOSE F. CERVANTES, M.D.
Dr. Cervantes completed his Internal Medicine Residency at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He then conducted his Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York and SUNY-Stony Brook, Stony Brook, New York.
Dr. Cervantes was Chief of Hematology-Oncology at St. Mary’s Hospital from 1989 to 1998 before joining Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in 1998 as Director of Oncology.

KAUSHIK J. DOSHI, M.D.
Dr. Doshi is a dually certified Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine. A graduate of Baroda Medical College in India, he completed his residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Residency Program. He served as Chief Resident at Jamaica Hospital. He then completed his fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ.
Dr. Doshi is a faculty supervisor and attending physician at Jamaica Hospital. He is actively involved in administrative oversight and teaching students and residents at all levels, including physical diagnosis and clinical pathophysiology. He is an active member of the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatric Society. Dr. Doshi has a special interest in dementia, falls, and osteoporosis in the geriatric population and medical informatics.

BRYAN FALK, M.D.
Dr. Falk graduated with a Fellowship in Nephrology from Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
Dr. Falk is a Nephrologist practicing in Queens, NY. He specializes in disorders of the kidney, including, renal failure, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, acid-base disorders as well as disorders of electrolyte metabolism.
Dr. Bryan Falk is presently the Director of Hemodialysis at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and the Medical Director of Kew Gardens Dialysis Center.

ASIT MEHTA, M.D.
Dr. Mehta completed his Residency training in Internal Medicine and his Fellowship in Gastroenterolgy at Catholic Medical Center. Immediately thereafter he joined the teaching faculty in the Department of Medicine and subsequently became the Director of the Department of Medicine’s Division of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Mehta is Board Certified in Gastroenterology He actively participates in resident education both bedside and in class room lectures and conferences. His professional areas of interest are promoting colorectal ca screening in the community and management of liver diseases.

MAHENDRA C. PATEL, M.D.
Dr. Patel received his medical education from Baroda Medical College. He graduated from medical school from the University Baroda, India with a post graduate degree in medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency from Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens, NY.
Dr Patel is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He joined Jamaica Hospital in 1992 and was appointed Director of MICU in 1994 and is currently serving in the same position.

KATERINA TELLER, M.D.
Dr. Teller attended the Medical School of Charles University in Prague Czech Republic where she also finished Rheumatology fellowship. After coming to USA she completed her residency in internal medicine at Nassau County Medical Center and then her fellowship in rheumatology at Montefiore Medical Center .She joined Jamaica Hospital Medical Center as a Director of Rheumatology; a position she still holds currently.
Dr. Teller is active in all aspects of outpatient and inpatient care of rheumatic patients. She enjoys teaching residents and encouraging interest in rheumatology as a very promising field of medicine. She is also a member of the American College of Rheumatology and Arthritis Foundation.

CRAIG THURM, M.D.
Dr.Thurm attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, followed by a medical internship and residency at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Campus in Baltimore Maryland. He completed his Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at The University of Maryland.
Dr. Thurm has been the Director of Pulmonary Medicine and the Medical Director of the Respiratory Care Department at Jamaica Hospital for 25 years. He has also has directed the Pulmonary Fellowship Program at the hospital since its inception.
Dr. Thurm has academic affiliations with several medical and osteopathic schools. He is a Fellow of The American College of Chest Physicians and a member of The American Thoracic Society. He has been listed in the Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area by Castle Connolly Medical LTD since 2012. He is Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Thurm is active in clinical research, and has been the principal investigator on multiple clinical trials involving various areas of pulmonary medicine. He lectures at Grand Rounds presentations at hospitals throughout the country on a number of pulmonary topics.
