Diagnosis and management of secondary hypertension, white coat hypertension and nocturnal hypertension
Everyone coming to the hypertension clinic gets a full medical evaluation to determine what type of high blood pressure problem they have. The provider goes over all the possibilities and the best treatment options depending on the type of blood pressure issue and tailors all treatment plans to the patient individually.
Treatment of uncontrolled and resistant hypertension
For patients that have hard to control blood pressure despite taking several medications, our team can offer a simplified approach using medications and lifestyle change to help bring the blood pressure down and prevent complications such as strokes and heart attacks.
24h home ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
If you monitor your blood pressure from home, our doctors can help you learn how to properly perform a home blood pressure assessment and review your results for signs of any potential cardiac problems. If you are unable to monitor yourself, we have automatic blood pressure monitors that can be worn for 24 hours and provide more detailed results.
Biochemical profiling and advanced imaging (CT, echocardiography)
We can offer advanced bloodwork and computed tomography (CT) angiogram of the kidneys to rule out other medical conditions that could be causing high blood pressure and treating those accordingly. Additionally, we perform echocardiography which allows the provider to assess the heart muscle and ensure the blood pressure is not having lasting effects on the heart.
Renal denervation treatment
This is an advanced, minimally invasive catheter-based procedure that reduces the activity of the renal sympathetic nerves, which is a key driver of high blood pressure in some patients. It can reduce blood pressure further if medications are not sufficient on their own.
