But most kids who are\ninfected typically don&#8217;t become as sick as adults and some might not show any\nsymptoms at all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children and adults experience similar symptoms of\u00a0COVID-19, children&#8217;s symptoms tend to be mild and cold-like. Most children recover within one to two weeks. Possible symptoms can include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Fever or chills<\/li><li>Nasal congestion or\nrunny nose<\/li><li>Cough<\/li><li>Sore throat<\/li><li>Shortness of breath or\ndifficulty breathing<\/li><li>Fatigue<\/li><li>Headache<\/li><li>Muscle aches or body\naches<\/li><li>Nausea or vomiting<\/li><li>Diarrhea<\/li><li>Poor feeding or poor\nappetite<\/li><li>New loss of taste or\nsmell<\/li><li>Belly pain<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To determine whether your child has COVID-19, a test using\na long-stemmed swab can be administered by a medical professional.&nbsp; If the test is positive for COVID, it is recommended that you teat mild symptoms\nsuch as fever and body aches with acetaminophen or ibuprofen.&nbsp; Be sure to follow the appropriate guidelines\nfor dosages.
