{"id":8650,"date":"2021-05-07T13:14:23","date_gmt":"2021-05-07T13:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jamaicahospital.org\/newsletter\/?p=8650"},"modified":"2021-05-07T13:14:25","modified_gmt":"2021-05-07T13:14:25","slug":"new-masking-guidelines-for-those-fully-vaccinated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jamaicahospital.org\/newsletter\/new-masking-guidelines-for-those-fully-vaccinated\/","title":{"rendered":"New Masking Guidelines For Those Fully Vaccinated"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Millions\nof Americans have received their COVID vaccine, and those who are now fully\nvaccinated can begin to do many things that they could not do because of the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jamaicahospital.org\/newsletter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/GettyImages-1264534020-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8651\" width=\"351\" height=\"236\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently issued\nupdated guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals, which included new rules\nfor mask wearing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the new guidelines allow those who are fully vaccinated to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Gather or conduct activities\noutdoors&nbsp;without wearing a mask, except in certain crowded settings and\nvenues. Wearing a mask at large events, such as parades, live\nperformance or sporting event is still recommended.<\/li><li>Attend small indoor gatherings with other fully vaccinated\npeople without wearing a mask or staying 6 feet apart. It is still recommended\nto avoid large indoor gatherings such as the mall or movie theatre.<\/li><li>Travel within the United States without\nneeding to get tested or self-quarantine before or after your trip.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, if you are fully vaccinated and have been around\nsomeone who has COVID-19, you do not need to stay away from others or get\ntested unless you have symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These new guidelines only apply to fully vaccinated individuals,\nwhich is defined as 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as\nthe Pfizer or Moderna&nbsp;vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose&nbsp;vaccine, such as Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine.
