For many people this\nmeans living healthy, losing weight, and keeping our blood pressure under\ncontrol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>High blood pressure affects one in three Americans. If not\ncontrolled well it can lead to kidney problems, damaged blood vessels, stroke,\nand heart attacks. There are many factors that can cause blood pressure to be\nelevated including obesity, stress, smoking, high sodium diets and elevated\ncholesterol. Ideally, managing some of these factors can help to maintain a\nblood pressure that is as close to normal range (120\/80mmHg) as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many ways that doctors can help us to control our\nblood pressure, Your doctor can prescribe medication that will help.\nAdditionally other methods include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Quitting smoking<\/li><li>Lose weight<\/li><li>Stress reduction<\/li><li>Exercise regularly<\/li><li>Eat less salty food<\/li><li>Eliminate beverages that contain caffeine <\/li><li>Eat dark chocolate<\/li><li>Cut back on sugar<\/li><li>Drink less alcohol<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Keeping your blood pressure under control is probably one of\nthe most important things you can do to keep yourself healthy.
