They can advise you on an appropriate starting point that\nshould include what exercises are best suited for you as well as how much\nweight to start with, and at how often to lift. Many factors will play a role\nin determining your weight lifting regime including age, overall physical\nhealth, and the reason you want to lift weights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some weight lifting safety tips should include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Take time to warm up and cool down before and after your workout\nby stretching your muscles<\/li><li>Avoid weight lifting alone. Using a partner to \u201cspot\u201d you will\nhelp you avoid injury<\/li><li>Understand the proper form when lifting weights, including\nkeeping your back straight<\/li><li>Don\u2019t exercise any set of muscles more than three times per week\nand never lift more weight than you can handle safely<\/li><li>Take a moment to understand how to operate the equipment and\ninspect it to make sure it is in good condition<\/li><li>Wear shoes with good traction to avoid slipping<\/li><li>Stop lifting weights if you feel faint or are experiencing\nany&nbsp; type of pain<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to speak to your doctor if you are considering\nbeginning a weight lifting program to make sure it is the best form of exercise\nfor you.
