Let&#8217;s start this season off right with a healthy choice.<\/p>\n<div id=\"wprm-recipe-container-5873\" class=\"wprm-recipe-container\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe wprm-recipe-simple\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredients-container\">\n<p class=\"wprm-recipe-header\">Oatmeal Raisin Cookie<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredients-container\">\n<h3 class=\"wprm-recipe-header\">INGREDIENTS<\/h3>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-group\">\n<ul class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredients\">\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1 1\/3<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cups<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of quick cooking oats or rolled oats<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1\/3<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cup<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of all purpose flour<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">pinch of salt<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1\/4<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">teaspoon<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of baking powder<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1\/4<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">teaspoon<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of baking soda<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">teaspoon<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of ground cinnamon<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">teaspoon<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of vanilla<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">6<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">tablespoons<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of room temperature unsalted butter<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-notes\">( margarine may be substituted)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">3\/4<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cup<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of light brown sugar<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">egg<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">3\/4<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cup<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of dark raisins<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-amount\">1\/3<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-unit\">cup<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"wprm-recipe-ingredient-name\">of flax seeds<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instructions-container\">\n<h3 class=\"wprm-recipe-header\">Instructions<\/h3>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-group\">\n<ol class=\"wprm-recipe-instructions\">\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Using a hand mixer, beat the butter and brown sugar until fluffed up ( 1-2 minutes) and add the egg, cinnamon and vanilla and beat for another 30 seconds until smooth.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">In a separate bowl, mix the oats, raisins, flax seeds and flour with baking powder and baking soda and pinch of salt.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Then using a rubber spatula, fold the oat mixture into the egg mixture. The dough will be a little crumbly, that\u2019s ok.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Using a standard tablespoon measuring spoon or a small ice cream scoop or oiled hands, pick up golf ball sizes of the dough and place them on the cookie sheet about 1\/2 inches apart ( these cookies don\u2019t spread too much).<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Bake the cookies ( middle rack) for 12-14 minutes depending on the size of your cookies. Take them out while the centre is still soft but the edges have set ( if you like a chewy cookie) or let them bake an extra 2 minutes until the centres are set too if you like a crunchier cookie.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before attempting to remove them.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Now enjoy!<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">To freeze the dough: wrap it in wax or parchment paper and freeze it as a log or pre-measure it into golf ball sizes.
