\"\"<\/a>\u201cYou saved my life\u201d is what I said\u00a0after\u00a0Dr. Yahya Atalay and the staff at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center\u00a0saved my life after I had a major stroke at JFK Airport.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On November 3<\/span>rd<\/span>\u00a0of last year,\u00a0I ended up in\u00a0the emergency room at\u00a0Jamaica Hospital\u00a0Medical Center\u00a0after\u00a0having a major\u00a0stroke\u00a0while I was\u00a0in the departure lounge at JFK\u00a0Airport\u00a0while\u00a0travelling back to the UK.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While in\u00a0Jamaica\u00a0Hospital\u2019s\u00a0emergency department,\u00a0it was discovered that I had\u00a0a blood clot in my brain.\u00a0Dr. Yahya\u00a0Atalay, a neuro-intervention\u00a0specialist, treated me and\u00a0successfully\u00a0performed a\u00a0<\/span>thrombectomy, a<\/span>\u00a0procedure to remove the clot from my brain\u00a0via my groin.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After the operation, I was completely unable to move the right-hand side of my body and could not talk. Over the next three days, I regained full use of my right-hand side, and my speech was almost back to normal with only a slight impediment, which only my wife had noticed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The care I received was second to none. All the staff at the\u00a0hospital were professional,\u00a0dedicated,\u00a0and caring. I was discharged after\u00a0three\u00a0days, which everyone seemed quite impressed with.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My family and I cannot thank all the\u00a0hospital staff enough for what they did over my\u00a0three-day\u00a0stay with them.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I would also like to thank\u00a0my wife, Serena, who has been a rock over the last few months during my recovery after my episode.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
