Healthcare Services Updates
It is important that you do not delay caring for your health. Many of our services have remained open, and we have put several protections in place to make our hospital safe for patients to seek in-person healthcare. Services that are currently open to the public include our:
- Ambulatory Care Centers
- Women’s Health Center
- Mental Health Clinic
- Ophthalmology Center
- Outpatient Rehabilitation Services

Temporary Visitation Policies
As of Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, we are allowing visiting hours on a limited basis on some patient units. All visitors are required to comply with our strict safety guidelines before being permitted on any patient units. Please Click Here to view our updated visitation hours and guidelines.
COVID Testing
A COVID test can show if you have an active coronavirus infection and if you need to take the necessary steps to quarantine or isolate yourself from others.
Jamaica Hospital, including its Emergency Department, does NOT provide COVID-19 tests for persons who have no symptoms of COVID-19, or do not need a screening exam for an emerency medical condition.

Obtaining A Death Certificate
If you have lost a loved one due to COVID-19 and need help with funeral costs, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is providing financial assistance for those who qualify.
Families or loved ones requesting assistance can click HERE to receive more information on the FEMA COVID-19 Funeral Assistance program.
Potential applicants are encouraged to gather the necessary documentation required by FEMA this includes an official death certificate with a confidential medical report that attributes the death to COVID-19.
A copy of the death certificate can be requested by visiting the New York City Department of Health website at
