Breast Cancer Screening Programs

Breast cancer is among the most common cancers to occur in women living in our community.  Each year, an estimated 16,700 women are diagnosed with the disease, and 2,500 die prematurely.

Early detection of breast cancer and timely treatment are essential in improving outcomes. Unfortunately, groups facing socioeconomic challenges and other disparities, such as limited access to care, experience higher mortality rates due to delayed diagnosis.

Jamaica Hospital’s breast cancer program emphasizes the importance of early detection by providing education and resources that encourage women to get screened. Screening services, including mammography, are offered in our Women’s Imaging Suite, which is equipped with the latest advancements in breast imaging technology to facilitate the early detection of breast cancer.

If breast cancer is diagnosed, our cancer program provides comprehensive treatment and support to patients throughout all facets of their care. To learn more about the services we provide,  please click here.
