Jamaica Hospital's Women’s Health Services

Jamaica Hospital’s Department of Women’s Health Services provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN services to women in our community.

Outpatient services are available at our Women’s Health Center, located only one block from Jamaica Hospital’s main campus. Here, we provide complete pre-natal care, highlighted by our innovative group-modeled Centering Care Program, which provides women of similar gestational ages the opportunity to learn from one another during group prenatal sessions. A member of our team guides the women through the entire process.

Our Women’s Health Department also offers expert care for a variety of gynecological conditions, including fibroid tumors, bladder conditions, menopause and multiple forms of gynecological cancers at our center, but OB/GYN services are also offered at many of our community-based MediSys Healthcare Centers, conveniently located throughout Queens.

If you require in-patient care, whether it is time to deliver your baby or to have a surgical procedure, Jamaica Hospital’s inpatient units offer state-of-the-art technology in a warm and comfortable environment. Our units are staffed by a team of expert doctors, nurses, and support staff to meet all your needs.

Conditions & Services

Some of the many conditions we treat include:
Endometriosis is an often painful condition in which tissue that is similar to the inner lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It often affects the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the tissue lining the pelvis.
Family planning allows people to attain their desired number of children, if any, and to determine the spacing of their pregnancies. It is achieved through the use of contraceptive methods and the treatment of infertility.
Uterine fibroids are a common type of noncancerous tumor that can grow in and on your uterus.
A high-risk pregnancy is a pregnancy that involves increased health risks for the pregnant person, fetus, or both.
Infertility is a condition where you can’t get pregnant after one year of trying to conceive. Infertility may happen because of a health issue with either you or your partner, or a mix of factors that prevent pregnancy.
Menopause occurs when a person goes 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period. It is a natural part of aging and marks the end of reproductive years.
Urogynecology is a subspecialty of gynecology that treats problems related to the pelvic floor, pelvic organ anatomy, and urinary tract function in women.
Pregnancy and prenatal care go hand in hand. Prenatal care is the healthcare you receive while you are pregnant.
